Dietitian from Kortrijk is working on the first open house in West Flanders for people with an eating disorder
The weekend is primarily for everyone who suffers from an eating disorder and his or her environment. Professionals who want to know more about the subject are also welcome. The aim of the open house weekend is to show people that they are not alone and to create more awareness about the urgent need for more help for people with an eating disorder.
“The waiting list for me is already up to three months and in many places there is even a recording stop,” says Lotte. “I now regularly take care of people in my practice when they are having a hard time and have nowhere to go. Just to come to themselves, to talk for a while in a place where they can be themselves and they find support in each other. That’s why an open house is so important. It will be a place where people with an eating disorder find a listening ear, where they can do things together and where they can escape from their surroundings for a while. There will be a family, friendly atmosphere.”
