Denim has been at the core of Diesel’s DNA since 1978 – one of the reasons why the brand strives to advance the denim sector through constant innovation, invention and further development. Motivated by this vision, Diesel launched the ‘Rehab Denim’ project with its FW22 collection and presented some key looks made in a more sustainable way. Since then, the brand has continued to work on the project, expanding the number of rehab denim styles with each collection. For the upcoming FW23 and SS24 seasons, the brand continues to use more Recovery denim, building on the pillars of sustainability and innovation that underpin the Rehab Denim project.
Through the project’s circular approach and collaboration with sustainable fabric specialists Tejidos Royo, Rehab Denim represents Diesel’s greatest advance in sustainability. Each garment is made from 100% recycled cotton and recycled elastane from pre-consumer waste, which is treated with Tencel™ Lyocell and recycled through REFIBRA technology, incorporating remainders of Diesel’s own trimmings into the manufacturing process. Dry Indigo® technology, also used for Rehab denim styles, is an innovative zero-water technique that also drastically reduces the amount of chemicals and energy used in denim dyeing.
