The man who was found dead on Sunday in the Egmond dunes is 56-year-old Peter Langenberg from Alkmaar. The man was found naked near a ‘men’s hangout’† Police say he died as a result of a crime. Hoping to get tips, the police released camera images in Opsporing Verzocht on which the man can be seen.
The video shows how the man boarded the Connexxion bus 165 around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday morning. At the Lighthouse stop, he leaves the bus again, the crime program reports.
About five hours later he is found dead in the Egmond dunes by passers-by. Not only his clothes, but also his bag, telephone and knee brace are gone at that time.
Motive
According to Opsporing Verzocht, the victim’s phone was ‘handed over to a bookshop in Egmond by honest finders’. The police would like to get in touch with those finders, because they probably ‘didn’t realize the seriousness of the situation’ at the time.
Anyone with information about the motive or reason for Langenberg’s death is also asked to contact the police. This also applies to people who know what happened to the victim’s knee brace, bag or clothing.
