The punk rock band Die Ärzte have canceled two more of their current Berlin tour. The planned show in the Metropol on May 20th and in the Columbiahalle on May 21st are affected. Before that, the concert in Kreuzberg’s Festsaal had to be rescheduled from May 17th to June 21st. The reason for the cancellation: health problems.
In an entertaining video message, Bela and Farin not only explain the cancellation, but also announce the alternative dates. Namely June 29th, 2022 for the concert in the Columbiahalle and September 6th for the show in the Metropol. In the video, the two also make it clear again: The doctors are really in the mood for the club concerts.
The “Berlin Tour MMXXII”
For over a week now, Die Ärzte have been playing a series of concerts in the federal capital – after nine years of not having been on a Berlin stage. Starting on May 7th in the super small location Schokoladen (130 fans), their “Berlin Tour MMXXII” should also take Die Ärzte to SO36 (850 fans) and the Columbiahalle (3500 fans). A stark contrast to the stadium tour beginning in June, where the band will again play in front of tens of thousands. In addition to the particularly intimate atmosphere, the band hopes that the campaign will also support the small concert locations that have been badly hit by the corona pandemic and the employees of the art and culture scene.
After the concerts have been postponed, the Zitadelle Spandau on June 6th is the next venue on the schedule. The band will also play at Tempelhofer Feld this summer. However, almost all concerts in Berlin are already sold out, only one concert at Tempelhof Airport still has tickets.
