Did Daphne Bunskoek ruin the launch of the new RTL logos? Even before the channel group could introduce its new logos, it already went over it with negative comments.
RTL has given little publicity to the launch of the new logos of RTL 4, 5, 7 and 8. Today is the day: the stations will all have a new look. It leaked out at the beginning of last month via an AD journalist and since then there has been almost nothing but negative comments about it, including from channel star Daphne Bunskoek.
Not cozy enough
Media expert Victor Vlam finds this inconvenient. “The rollout of the new logo has been really disastrous for RTL 4. So it has been leaked that a new logo came through an AD journalist, Marcus den Blanken. It has also been commented on in the BLVD Podcast. Daphne Bunskoek wouldn’t find it cozy enough,” he says The Communicados.
That negative comment from Daphne has stuck, because RTL does not respond to it, says Victor. “In the meantime, RTL has not made any statements at all. In other words, everything that has been written and made about that logo is all negative.”
Awkward
Communication expert Lars Duursma believes that RTL has failed. “Yes, that is not convenient. In fact, everyone already has a negative image of that new logo before it has even been launched.”
Victor: “Exactly. In my opinion, being RTL, you should have immediately sent out a large press release with some nice videos, in which it all looks very sleek to make people enthusiastic. In any case, to counter that negative framing a bit. I think that’s crazy.”
