“Did Countess Eloise feel she was being filmed?”

Luuk Ikink does not rule out that Countess Eloise felt that she was being secretly filmed when she decided to go on a rampage against the ‘fake racist’ of broadcaster PowNed. “Which can.”

There is a lot to do about a TV clip in which Countess Eloise goes on a rampage against an actor who has been hired by broadcaster PowNed to play a racist. The intention of the broadcaster was to test what bystanders do when they observe racism. Countess Eloise decided to intervene when she heard racist lyrics on a terrace.

“Did Eloise feel it?”

Many people mistrust the images, but PowNed swears high and low that it is absolutely not staged. One thing is certain: Countess Eloise has given explicit permission for the images to be broadcast, so she also likes that her noble intervention is portrayed in this way.

What does Luuk Ikink, the big star of RTL Boulevard, think of it? Does he also think it was staged? “I don’t know, you know. I do not know that. I’ve watched it three times. What might be possible is that at some point she realized: hey, maybe I’m being tricked here and she acted on it. Which can.”

Not natural

If Eloise knew that, then of course her reaction is not entirely natural. “But I don’t think she was part of the plot. I don’t believe that,” said Luuk in the morning show Radio 538.

Disc jockey Tim Klijn: “She did give permission to broadcast it afterwards, because you then have to sign a quit claim and there is discussion about: what is allowed and what is not? So it was very consciously said about… I think it would be good for her PR if this came out.”

‘I would do that too’

Luke agrees. “Yes, I think so too. Naturally. Yes, I would have it aired too if I had reacted that way. Then I would have thought: yes, just broadcast, I only do things right, right?

Sidekick Niels van Baarlen: “By the way, super clever, isn’t it, if nothing has been directed and she just took the plunge.”

Tim: “And if it is acted, then it is a fantastic actress, because it came across as very believable.”

Luke: “Yes, I thought so too.”
