Bridget Maasland was briefly asked yesterday in RTL Boulevard for her opinion about the new docuseries by André Hazes Jr. What did she actually know about his hysterical sniffing sessions?
The affair between André Hazes Jr. and Bridget Maasland was notorious, but it has been behind us for quite some time now. In any case, it is no longer uncomfortable if she has to introduce yet another Hazes item in RTL Boulevard. Very occasionally, like yesterday, she is still embarrassed for a while.
‘That is striking’
Bridget spoke to her colleagues at the desk about the premiere of André’s docuseries: “There were also a number of people who were not present who did shine in the documentary, such as Monique. That is striking.”
Monique Westenberg is extensively in the documentary, but was not at the premiere. TV expert Rob Goossens: “There also seems to be something, because Videoland also didn’t allow us to use images of Monique from the series. Monique herself posted a photo on Instagram that she was doing coloring pages with little Dré.”
Colleague Luuk Ikink: “Monique’s management says: ‘Yes, she just stayed at home, because she had already seen the documentary with André and she actually thought it was fine.’”
‘You weren’t there either’
Bridget: “And Sarah wasn’t even in the documentary, was she? She had asked for that too. There wasn’t either. Was the new Sarah there?”
Rob then teased: “No, neither, so ehh… So as for love life… You weren’t there either I guess?”
Bridget looks at him in silence, without straining a facial muscle. Rob quickly: “No, as far as André’s love life was concerned, there was little.”
“How did you look?”
Luuk then to Bridget: “How did you actually watch that documentary, Bridget?”
Bridget: “Well, actually fine. At a great distance. It’s also actually the period after me that is followed, so I actually have little to do with it and that’s how it feels. I had to look at my work and now I also have to talk about it for my work and that’s what we do.”
Did she know about sniffing?
What Bridget was not asked is whether she actually knew about André’s sniffing behaviour. After all, he confesses in the documentary that he has been using since he was fifteen.
It is a pity and unjournalism that this question was not asked, according to Televizier journalist Jef Willemsen. “The André Hazes documentary may be about the period after Bridget, but if Andre indicates that he has been addicted to drink and drugs since he was fifteen, then a question such as ‘what did you notice?’ not an unreasonable question. Answers are free.”
One Anja: “That’s what I thought too. Bridget must also have known that he was addicted to drink and drugs.”
