Mali national player Diadie Samassekou is leaving the Bundesliga soccer club TSG Hoffenheim and moving to the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus.
The midfielder will probably be loaned first. According to information from the “kicker”, a purchase option of 13 million euros should be included. The transfer window in Greece is still open.
“It is very possible that the transfer will be announced during the course of the day, it is imminent,” said coach Andre Breitenreiter on Friday.
Samassekou switched from RB Salzburg to TSG in 2019 for almost 15 million (including bonuses), but the 26-year-old has only played a supporting role at Breitenreiter since the beginning of the season.
Breitenreiter warns of Freiburg
With a view to the top game on Sunday against SC Freiburg (7:30 p.m. / DAZN), Breitenreiter warned of the opponent, who was convincing again on Thursday in the Europa League game in Piraeus (3-0).
“The Freiburgers have once again proven the quality they have,” said the coach: “Their success is no coincidence. It will be a tough task.”
In the Baden duel, fourth-placed Hoffenheim and second-placed Freiburg meet. In addition to the long-term injuries, Breitenreiter will probably have to do without Denmark’s Robert Skov, who is suffering from a thigh injury.
