Handball national coach Alfred Gislason has to do without newcomer Veit Mävers in the international matches against Hungary.
Gislason said one of six corona tests was positive for the backcourt player from Bundesliga club TSV Hannover-Burgdorf.
The 21-year-old has therefore left in consultation with his club and will miss the games on Saturday (4:15 p.m.) in Gummersbach and Sunday in Kassel (5:15 p.m.).
“We’re assuming the test was flawed, but we didn’t want to take any chances,” Gislason said.
