At 448,000 euros, 1860 Munich will receive the highest sum from the German Football Association’s youth funding pot for the 2021/2022 season in the 3rd division.
Since the 2018/2019 season, a total of 2.95 million euros has been paid out annually to the third division clubs to reward and strengthen the promotion of young talent.
Relegated Würzburger Kickers and Viktoria Köln will each receive around 370,000 euros gross this year. They are followed by 1. FC Saarbrücken (234,000 euros) and champions 1. FC Magdeburg (228,000 euros).
A total of eleven out of 18 clubs in the 2021/2022 third division season are participating with a six-figure sum.
Second teams from licensed clubs are excluded from the income from the 3rd league youth funding pot – as well as from central TV marketing and the rewards from Financial Fair Play. Thus SC Freiburg II and Borussia Dortmund II are not taken into account.
