The German U20 national team celebrated a late victory against hosts Romania in the Elite League.
DFB coach Hannes Wolf’s team scored in stoppage time in Sibiu and won 1-0 (0-0). Germany is pushing Italy off the top, at least for the time being.
In the third minute of injury time, the DFB juniors were successful thanks to Ben Bobzien, currently on loan from Mainz 05 to the Austrian second division team Austria Lustenau, and took three important points. Due to the defeat, Romania missed the jump past Germany.
On Monday the U20s will face England in the second game of the international break in Regensburg. The “Three Lions” U20 have lost all their games so far.
