The DFB will switch from supplier Adidas to Nike in two years. This has already followed for the national teams.
The German national team has found a new fixed location: In the future, the selection teams of the DFB will prepare for their tasks in Weimarer Land. A corresponding contract has now been signed in Blankenhain.
The new partner location is the Spa & Golf Resort Weimarer Land. There, DFB managing director Sport Andreas Rettig, Thuringia’s Prime Minister Mario Voigt (CDU) and DFB Vice President Hermann Winkler signed the cooperation agreement. The agreement is now valid and is initially scheduled for six years.
Voigt emphasized that Thuringia will be a good host. He referred to the enormous advertising effect that the national team of the national team had already had in Weimarer Land-this was financially equivalent to around 100 million euros.
The background to the location choice is the upcoming excavation change at the DFB. From 2027 the association no longer works with Adidas, but with Nike. The “World of Sports” campus in Herzogenaurach, which belongs to the Franconian company, will no longer be available in the future.
“Until then, however, we won’t make a bow to Herzogenaurach,” said Rettig. The DFB campus has in Frankfurt/Main About modern infrastructure, but the capacities for a complete team are too low during the tournament preparation. However, nothing spoke against its own location – rather, much speaks for Blankenhain, emphasized Rettig.
The Weimar Land is no new territory for the DFB. Before the home European Championships 2024, national coach Julian Nagelsmann prepared his team for the tournament there. During the tournament, the English national team was housed in Blankenhain with captain Harry Kane.
The system fulfills FIFA standards, offers several lawns and enables the teams to make ideal training conditions through their seclusion.
In the future, in addition to the A national teams, the male U20, U21 and U23 selection teams as well as the female U20 and U23 teams will also open their training camps in Weimarer Land. Herzogenaurach will remain with the association until the end of 2026.
