Against Austria, Leroy Sané was shown the red card after an attack. The three-game ban has now been confirmed.
The German national team will have to do without Leroy Sané until the European Championship dress rehearsal. The offensive player unsuccessfully appealed against his suspension after a red card before the FIFA appeals committee, which means he will be missing from national coach Julian Nagelsmann in the next three international matches. Sané was expelled from the field in November in the test against Austria in Vienna (0-2) after being violent.
In March, the DFB team will first play in France (March 23rd) and against the Netherlands (March 26th). Two more tests are planned in June in the immediate run-up to the home European Championships, the location and opponent are still open. Sané will only be allowed to play again in the second international match in June. The European Championship begins for Germany on June 14th with the first group game against Scotland, other opponents in the preliminary round are Hungary and Switzerland.
