DFB-Pokal: Turbine Potsdam’s women beat Bayer Leverkusen in the semifinals – DFB-Pokal (Women) – Soccer

It was a similar story for the hosts after they had slowly taken over after the first quarter of an hour with better room allocation and a calm passing game. They, too, remained too hectic at the front, too imprecise. Only a shot from the lively Amira Arfaoui (14th) after a solo worth seeing and a direct acceptance by Dora Zeller (16th) caused a little higher blood pressure in turbine keeper Anna Wellmann.

Potsdam then got the best opportunity of the first half: In the 34th minute, Maria Plattner suddenly ran all alone towards Bayer keeper Anna Klink, but failed at the 27-year-old.

Potsdam initially looked dominant again in the second half, but like their opponents remained without a goal threat. That all changed in the 65th minute when the superior referee Riem Hussein pointed to the spot after a duel between Leverkusen’s Zeller and Potsdam’s Sissoko: penalty for the Bayer women. Blagojević didn’t miss his chance – 1-0.

Kerschwoski equalizes from the point

Leverkusen seemed on their way to the final, but Potsdam hit back in the closing stages: Kerschowski converted a hand penalty (83′) after Jessica Wich played the ball clearly with both arms. Bad luck for Bayer keeper Klink, who almost saved the penalty kick but punched the ball into her own net. The game went into overtime.

In the additional 30 minutes, very little happened in front of both goals. Only Bayer’s Milena Nikolic had a small chance, but failed from 14 meters half-left position at Wellmann. That’s it – it went to penalties. Where the Slovenian Agrez scored the decisive goal with a score of 4:4.
