The team of national coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg meets Denmark, Spain and Finland in the preliminary round matches at the European Championships from July 6th to 31st in England.
Hansi Flick’s men’s team will play against England, who came second in the European Championship, this Tuesday (8:45 p.m. / ZDF) in Munich.
Annette Seitz, spokeswoman for the DFB women, spoke of a “double pass”: “This is a small greeting from our men’s team to all of us that we support each other and that it’s a football.”
National goalkeeper Merle Frohms from Eintracht Frankfurt said of the planned campaign: “It’s definitely a nice sign.” Last year, the women played against Chile in the black men’s European Championship jerseys to set an example ahead of the men’s European Championship.
