The German national soccer team will face the Netherlands, European Championship opponents Hungary and Bosnia-Herzegovina in the group stage of the Nations League. This was the result of the draw for the fourth edition of the Nations League on Thursday evening at the Maison de la Mutualite conference center in Paris.
Germany continues to play in the top league A, but was only in the third draw pot and therefore faced top-class opponents. The matches begin in September after the home European Championship (June 14th to July 14th), which from a German perspective is outstanding, and the remaining match days are scheduled for October and November. It is possible that Julian Nagelsmann, who followed the draw on site, will no longer be the national coach: his contract only runs until the European Championships.
The newly created quarter-finals of the A-League will take place in March 2025, the Final Four tournament will be played in June next year. England was relegated from the A league as bottom of the group behind Italy, Hungary and Germany.
On Thursday, 54 of the 55 UEFA member associations were in the draw: Russia is still excluded because of the war of aggression against Ukraine.
