The DFB-Elf imagined things differently: At the start of the Nations League, Hansi Flick’s team played 1-1 against Italy. The Italians, who became European champions a year ago, are in the process of rebuilding after missing out on qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar.
National coach Hansi Flick said after the game that “we cannot be satisfied today”. There were only a few players in the DFB team who clearly stood out.
