Tim Meyer, head of the medical commission at the German Football Association, is annoyed by the many false reports that are still circulating in the football industry on the subject of vaccination. “Since we operate the FIFA register for sudden deaths, we naturally had many such inquiries. There are no indications of increased medical problems among soccer players or even more frequent deaths,” said the national team doctor in an interview with the Bavarian Football Association.
The heart is not usually affected by a vaccination either. “Inflammation of the heart muscle is very rare as a side effect of vaccination, and it usually seems to be harmless,” said the head of the task force for sports medicine/special game operations, emphasizing in this context: “On the other hand, it occurs much more frequently as a complication of an illness with the corona virus.”
