National soccer player Felicitas Rauch is moving from VfL Wolfsburg to North Carolina Courage in the US professional league NWSL. According to her new club, the 27-year-old will receive a two-year contract.
“We didn’t make the decision to comply with this request lightly. After all, we are losing a long-standing top performer and a great personality,” said Wolfsburg director Ralf Kellermann. “In addition to the fact that we wanted to make this career dream possible for her, the economic component also spoke in favor of this step.”
Rauch’s contract with VfL originally ran until 2025. The 36-time DFB selection player was a regular at the European Championships, but was injured during the World Cup last summer in Australia.
The left-back was recently absent from Wolfsburg and the national team due to a toe injury. With VfL she won the German championship twice and the DFB Cup four times. In 2019, Rauch moved from Turbine Potsdam to the VW Club.
