Deutschlandstipendium: more sponsored students than ever before

“That shows a really great way,” says the Vice President for Studies and Digitization, Jochen Abke, and explicitly addresses his words to a scholarship holder who was supported in the very first funding round with the Deutschlandstipendium at the former Lübeck University of Applied Sciences. “Today, Janson Diedenhoven is a sponsor himself, a Deutschlandstipendium alumni, so to speak,” Abke continues. The Vice President now addresses his words specifically to the 67 students present who will receive the Germany Scholarship in the 12th round:

Do this scholarship, get a great degree, go out into business and then become a sponsor.”

Over 300 students have been funded so far

The Deutschlandstipendium is a federal government program that awards non-income-related scholarships to students who have distinguished themselves through outstanding achievements and social commitment.

In the award round from September 1, 2022 to August 31, 2023, 67 students will receive the coveted scholarship. This is the highest number of scholarship holders in the history of the university,” says Nicola Grabow, coordinator of the Germany scholarship at TH Lübeck.

241,200 euros would come together for the students in this award round. In addition, since the start of the Deutschlandstipendium at the Lübeck University of Applied Sciences, more than 300 students have been supported for different durations, including from the start of their studies to their master’s degree.

The Germany Scholarship award event took place for the first time in the Günther Grass House and offered students and their sponsors an elegant and comfortable setting. In addition to awarding the certificates, the event offered the students and sponsors the opportunity to get to know one another, make new contacts and polish up their knowledge of Günther Grass. A guided tour through the Günther Grass house showed interesting and culinary insights into the life of Grass. This is how they found out that Grass was studying graphics and sculpture and had always devoted himself to more than just two arts. His works never stand alone. Sometimes he drew first, sometimes he wrote first. But in the end, art and literature always came together.
