Deutsche Bank and Mastercard have won the tender for Lufthansa’s “Miles & More” credit card.
As the companies involved announced, Deutsche Bank will issue the credit card from mid-2025. Mastercard remains the partner for Lufthansa’s loyalty program cards. So far, the BayernLB subsidiary DKB has issued the “Miles & More” cards.
“Miles & More has one of the leading credit card portfolios in Germany and Europe,” said Deutsche Bank boss Christian Sewing, according to the announcement. “In Germany, we have a strong position in the business of issuing credit cards. With Miles & More, we will continue to advance our important payment transactions business as part of our growth strategy as a global house bank.”
All existing tickets remain valid until the change. The previous services, such as collecting award miles on credit card transactions, will also remain in place with Deutsche Bank as a partner.
Deutsche Bank shares temporarily rose by 0.91 percent to EUR 9.36 via XETRA.
