In order to find new staff, Deutsche Bahn is using new tracks. On Thursday, she invited to Job Speed Dating on an S-Bahn that drove through Berlin. And 134 applicants jumped on the bandwagon.
204 train drivers are wanted. Also career changers are welcome. Just like Marcus Sternberg (55) from Steglitz. After 20 years at his desk in the IT industry, he wants to try something new.
“Riding the S-Bahn is always like traveling a bit,” he says. “As the father of a 16-year-old and as a project manager, I’m stress-resistant.”

There were also many women among the applicants. “I’m fulfilling a childhood dream. My grandmother was a platform supervisor. As a child, I often went along and found it exciting,” says Alexandra Kelm (48) from Hoppegarten, who currently works part-time as a saleswoman. “Now my children are out of the house and I’m looking for a change because my job is very physically demanding.” The training lasts eleven months.

The Job S-Bahn will continue to run through Berlin in the future. We are still looking for customer advisors and painters, electricians and varnishers for maintenance.
