As of today, the Norgerbrug and the N373 will be closed for six months. Traffic between Assen, Norg and Veenhuizen must take a detour. A new bridge will be built and the traffic situation will be adjusted. The closure is expected to last until May 22.

The almost hundred-year-old bridge will open for the last time today. About 8,000 vehicles drive over it every day. “Due to aging, it needs to be replaced,” project leader Lambert Vlieg said earlier.

The entire road along the Norgervaart (N373) up to and including the Kolonievaart (N919) is closed to traffic. To prevent cut-through traffic through the Asser Kloosterveen district, a bus lock will be installed in the district and near Huis ter Heide. There is a special route for residents and bicycle traffic. Traffic is being diverted via Norg, Donderen and Vries. According to the province of Drenthe, the detour route can be recognized by the yellow signs along the road.
