On the Rondweg in Emmen, the exit to Nieuw-Amsterdamsestraat has been closed to traffic since last night due to high water. This means that the Rietlanden and Parc Sandur districts cannot be reached from the N34.
The surrounding ditches have burst their banks due to heavy rainfall, causing water to end up on the road. Road users coming from the direction of Coevorden and Groningen must detour a few kilometers via the entrance and exit of the Hondsrugweg.
The municipality says it cannot immediately do anything about the flooding, which means the exit will only reopen after Christmas.
