Three vandals who destroyed the Titan football field in Nieuw-Weerdinge during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday have reported to the club. This is what secretary Erik Hendriks says. “It’s great that they came forward,” he says.
Titan announced earlier this week via social media that one of the football fields had been destroyed, but at the same time said that there were images of this. Hendriks thinks that the perpetrators also read that message. “They may have already known that they would be the winner.”
Due to the tire tracks, the field, which the club has on loan from the municipality, is unplayable for the time being. Two board members of the third grader had a conversation today with the group of ‘young boys’, as Hendriks describes them. “It’s also nice that the person who drove the tractor also reported it, even though he was otherwise unrelated.”
Treasurer Gea Moorman spoke to the young people today. She says that the club will continue discussions with the group about settling the damage. This will determine whether Titan will file a report.
