Destiny’s Child: Matthew Knowles wants “one last album”

Beyoncé’s father says: “You never know” about a possible reunion of the girl group.

Matthew Knowles, Beyoncé’s father and former manager of her former group Destiny’s Child, wants the girl group to have “one last album”. The band officially broke up in 2006, but have continued to play live shows, including at the 2013 Super Bowl and most recently at the 2018 Coachella Festival.

“It’s a decision that the ladies would have to make,” Knowles said of a possible Destiny’s Child reunion in a new interview. “I would definitely, definitely support the decision as I still manage Destiny’s Child.” Above all, he knows about the effect that a reunification of Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and his daughter. “I think the fans would just be over the moon, overwhelmed,” he says. “And hopefully they do it one last time in their career. Hopefully they give us one last album.”

Speaking to “Entertainment Tonight,” Knowles also explains that the singers’ solo careers were planned from the start. “When the women started their careers, we planned five years in advance where they would be, which is why they finally started their solo careers,” said the 71-year-old. “It was all strategy,” he continues.

Beyoncé is currently on her RENAISSANCE world tour. The 41-year-old is coming to Germany for three shows as part of the tour: on June 15 she will play in Cologne, on June 21 she will appear in Hamburg and on June 24 she will be in Frankfurt. Her current record RENAISSANCE was released on July 29, 2022.
