Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, more than 43,000 applications for temporary protection have been registered in Belgium. For the whole of 2022, the Federal Planning Bureau expects 83,000 refugees from Ukraine. Despite the exceptional impact that this war will have, Belgium should not expect higher population growth in the long term, the Federal Planning Bureau reported on Thursday.
