The Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra is sticking to their ESC participation!
Despite the war in their country, the Ukrainian band Kalush Orchestra wants to travel to Turin for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
“We are preparing as best we can and are doing everything we can to represent our country in the best possible way,” said singer Oleg Psyuk on Saturday – 50 days before the final on May 14 – in a video on Instagram. He thanked the ESC organizers for their support.
According to bookmakers, Kalush Orchestra are the big favorites for victory in Italy with their song “Stefania”. The band is scheduled for the first semi-final on May 10th, with the final four days later.
Since the beginning of the war at the end of February, she has been promoting the resistance of the Ukrainians against the Russian aggressors on social networks, including with video clips of the war.
Because of the war, Russia has been excluded from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) for this year’s edition of the ESC. The ally Belarus was not admitted to the competition after the suspension of the broadcaster BTRC last year.
