Despite the rapid increase in the number of infections, the federal and state governments do not want to tighten the corona measures for the time being.
The federal and state governments want to maintain the current course in the corona pandemic. As Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) said on Monday in Berlin after consultations with the heads of government of the federal states, the contact restrictions should initially continue to apply.
In view of the very high number of infections, one must remain cautious. If it is clear how the situation will develop, the necessary decisions will be made. But now the motto is: “stay on course”.
The health ministers of the federal and state governments were also asked to present a “balanced strategy” for the correct use of the test options.
According to Scholz, a new campaign promoting vaccinations and boosters should also address those people who have not yet been reached. On posters, on the radio and on social media, the slogan is advertised: “Vaccination helps. Also everyone you love.”
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the nationwide seven-day incidence, i.e. the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within one week, was around 840 on Monday, and in the Mitte district of Berlin it even reached a high of more than 2,840.
