Inspectors from the municipality of Eersel still found 171 dogs at the controversial breeder Jan Paridaans on Wednesday. The municipality has now imposed a penalty on him for the fifth time. Due to a ruling by the Council of State, Paridaans has to stop his business there, but he refuses to leave.
At the end of January, more than 400 dogs from the breeder were seized. However, that did not mean the end of illegal breeding. All subsequent checks showed that a lot of animals still live on the site, often in poor conditions.
The municipality will continue to check weekly until the breeder stops. A penalty of EUR 2,500 is imposed each time, with a maximum of EUR 25,000. Half of that amount has already been tapped.
Earlier this week, the breeder was in the news when he gave a number of striking blows to a reporter from Omroep Powned. He filmed with a hidden camera on the breeder’s property.
