Kylian Mbappe seems to stay at Paris Saint-Germain after all. The French striker was heading for a transfer to Real Madrid, but according to L’Equipe and marca he opts for a longer stay in Paris.
The 23-year-old Mbappé is reportedly going to extend his expiring contract with PSG for three years. For a long time it looked like Real Madrid would make sure of his arrival. The ‘Royal’ already made a serious attempt to break free from the striker last summer, but PSG then rejected an offer of approximately 160 million euros.
Due to his expiring contract, Mbappe seemed to transfer to Real after this season, but PSG have managed to convince his star player to stay in Ligue 1 in recent months. The champion of France has yet to announce Mbappe’s contract extension.
Mbappe is known as one of the best players in the world. The 54-time international, who became world champion with France in 2018, has so far scored 36 goals and 26 assists this season. PSG took him over from AS Monaco in the summer of 2017. He was first hired and then incorporated for about 145 million euros.
Kylian Mbappe also appears to be wearing the Paris Saint-Germain shirt next season.
Pochettino continues to have star vanguard
Mbappe’s new contract looks set to keep Paris Saint-Germain’s star front guard intact for next season. Lionel Messi (contract until mid-2023) and Neymar (until mid-2025) are also still stuck in the Parc des Princes.
With Mbappe in the ranks, ambitious Paris Saint-Germain still hopes to win the Champions League one day. This season, the Parisians stranded in the eighth finals against Real Madrid. The Madrilenians made up for a 1-0 defeat from the first game in the return.
Paris Saint-Germain secured the league title in the Ligue 1 a while ago. The team of coach Mauricio Pochettino closes the season on Saturday evening with a home game against FC Metz.
