The Council of State also criticizes the updated nitrogen agreement. In an opinion on the nitrogen decree that the Flemish majority parties reached at the end of 2023, the Council of State appears to be legally calling into question a number of fundamental building blocks of the reached agreement. N-VA and Open Vld have already indicated that they want to continue with the current nitrogen decree.
