Top scorer Younes Ebnoutalib will not leave SV Elversberg in the winter. “There is currently no better club for me,” explained the 22-year-old to the “Saarbrücker Zeitung”. “I’ll stay in Elversberg until the end of the season. That’s what I’ve decided for myself.” The German-Moroccan, who was born in Frankfurt, is, together with Darmstadt’s Isac Lidberg (27), the most successful snapper in the 2nd Bundesliga. “I’ve been able to develop enormously here in less than a year. And I don’t think there’s a better club for me at the moment to continue this development,” the striker explained.

Ebnoutalib moved from FC Gießen in the Regionalliga Südwest to Elversberg in January 2025 for 50,000 euros and signed a contract until 2028. The attacker played in his youth for Rot-Weiss Frankfurt and SV Wehen Wiesbaden, among others, and in 2022 he made the move to Italy to AC Perugia. There, the 1.91 meter tall professional played 23 times for the U19s (four goals/three assists) and once for the men in Serie C, and also sat on the bench once in Serie B. After his departure from Perugia in January 2024, he was without a club for six months before the move to Giessen came about.

Ebnoutalib initially needed some warm-up time after his Elversberg transfer and only played 42 minutes in the 2024/25 second division, in which he remained goalless. The knot broke this season, which brought him into the focus of the Bundesliga. At the end of November, “Bild” reported that Eintracht Frankfurt had targeted him. Elversberg has now reached an asking price of 8 million euros for Ebnoutalib. The offensive man was initially valued at 1.5 million euros in the market value update in October – a cautious valuation at the time, which is likely to rise again before the next update on December 16th. SVE sports director Nils-Ole Book commented on Ebnoutali’s whereabouts: “We are very pleased that Younes thinks like that and has that attitude. The boy is getting stronger and stronger, and that is not least a credit to our work.” At the same time, the manager praised: “A player with this potential and with this attitude is very rare at that age.”
