Despite broken ankle: Chevrier wants to go to Paris

After her terrible accident at the World Athletics Championships in Glasgow, French pole vaulter Margot Chevrier has set her sights on the Olympic Games.

“Paris 2024, I will jump,” read the message written on her thigh. The 24-year-old posted this picture on her Instagram profile.

Her shocking injury shocked the spectators at the World Indoor Championships. During her failed attempt, Chevrier allowed herself to sink over 4.65 meters to the mat and sprained her foot.

She suffered an open fracture in her ankle. The French woman screamed in horror and pain. She had to be treated for longer and then transported away.

“It will take as long as it takes. Paris 2024. I will be there,” assured the 24-year-old. One operation was planned for Scotland and another is scheduled to take place in France. Chevrier showed off a heart in a photo on her Instagram story.

With a jump of 4.55 meters, Chevrier would ultimately finish in eighth place. The title went to Brit Molly Caudery with 4.80 meters.
