Designer Christelle Kocher has been appointed guest creative director of the upcoming September edition of the Tranoï fair, reports WWD. It is the first time that the fair has invited a female designer as its creative director.
In her function, Kocher selects the labels that are presented at the fair. A smaller selection of their favorite pieces will also be on display in a separate room. On this occasion, according to the WWD, she will also give a lecture on the “new challenges in fashion”.
Kocher is known, among other things, for its brand Koché, which was founded in 2015. Last February, she was appointed creative director of French shoe brand Charles Jourdan.
Boris Provost, CEO of the fair, told WWD in a statement about their participation: “Tranoï and Kocher share a common, deep-rooted vision and commitment to fashion. We are united by our values of openness in fashion and our commitment to supporting young designers from all over the world.”
The Tranoï fair takes place in Paris from September 29th to October 2nd.
