The Ukrainian authorities do not intend to conduct military operations on the “occupied parts” of their territory, including in the Donbass, and believe that the crisis can be resolved exclusively by political means. This was stated by Deputy Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Yuriy Vitrenko at a meeting of the Security Council, reports TASS.
“I want to confirm that Ukraine has no intention of any military action on the occupied parts of its territory, not to mention the border with Russia. We see no alternative to a political and diplomatic solution to this international military conflict,” he said.

Vitrenko added that Kiev continues to look for “any viable options” to ensure peace in the region. The starting point in this process, according to him, should still be the de-escalation of the situation by Russia. In addition, Moscow must withdraw its troops from the Donbass and Crimea, Vitrenko said.
He called on the UN to use its mandate to maintain international peace and security and prevent a military escalation in Eastern Europe.
