Only three days left until the release of MEMENTO MORI – for Depeche Mode March 24, 2023 is a special day. The first album to be released after Andy Fletcher’s death has apparently already been leaked.
Album leaked – but probably in poor quality
Like the fan page depechemode.de reported, the album has been shared unofficially for a few days. Allegedly there was a mistake in Great Britain – some LPs had already been delivered there and thus got into the hands of fans. In turn, audio recordings could be distributed, which are now making the rounds on the Internet.
For real fans of Depeche Mode, however, these recordings are more likely to spoil the fun of MEMENTO MORI. In a “Depeche Mode” forum there is talk of the audio files being recorded too slowly. This can be heard, for example, on the first single “Ghosts Again”, which is said to be much more sluggish than the original.
Depeche Mode: It’s worth the wait
So if you want to enjoy the new songs the way Depeche Mode recorded them, you’re well advised to wait until Friday. Then the album will be officially released – on double vinyl, transparent red vinyl, on CD, as a deluxe edition with a 28-page booklet and even on cassette. The album – along with other merch – can also be bought in the band’s pop-up bus in various cities in Germany in the coming days. Incidentally, fans also have the opportunity there Meet & Greet with Dave Gahan and Martin Gore including concert tickets to the show in Leipzig.
