Enthusiasm and outrage

Non-German-speaking followers of Depeche Mode are thrilled that they are finally getting a copy of the publication and write, for example: “I’m just happy that we’ll have it in English. And I’m grateful to the authors for writing this great book.” Others are also grateful, but also feel it’s not right that they have to wait so long. One man commented on the Facebook post about the announcement: “It was about time… It should have been right now [auf Englisch] should have been without having to wait for it… To be honest, I’m sure I speak for others… Since English is the #1 language, they shouldn’t have made us wait… I didn’t really feel like I fit in with this one either Project included because of this situation… But I’m glad it’s happening.

In “Depeche Mode: Live,” as the title suggests, the authors focused on the group’s unique concerts and live events. Sascha Lange and Dennis Burmeister summarize this phenomenon with unpublished photos and exclusive interviews. They offer insights from the beginnings in 1980 to current live performances. Until recently, Lange was on a comprehensive reading tour throughout Germany to present the work.
