After a short summer break, Depeche Mode are continuing their “Memento Mori” tour with three concerts in Mexico City. The first guest performance took place on Thursday (September 21st). It may even become a concert film.
Depeche Mode are in America again. Thursday marked the start of the extended part of their tour on the continent. A total of three gigs are on the program in the Arena Foro Sol. The last time the band was a guest here was in 2018.
The first evening (more to follow on September 23rd and 25th) definitely did not deliver any setlist surprises compared to the last performance in Europe this year in Oslo a few days ago. Of course, the mood among the hot-blooded Mexicans in the baseball stadium, which is sold out for three days, was simmering.
Like the usual well-informed fansite depechemode.de reports, there is a rumor that the concert was filmed. So far it is known that the band will produce a documentary about their emotional first tour without Andy Fletcher. However, it is unclear whether the footage from Mexico will be part of it or whether it will be recorded for another form of publication.
