The band played “Enjoy the Silence”, “Behind the Wheel” and many other hits live on the first evening.
On February 13th, Depeche Mode gave their first of three concerts as part of their “Memento Mori” tour at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin. They will be on stage there again on February 15th and 20th. The most beautiful impressions as well as the Setlist of the evening is available here.

Dave Gahan and Martin Gore delivered a total of 24 songs to their fans in Berlin – even if one of them can only be half counted, as it was “Happy Birthday to you”, which they sang for a lucky visitor. To introduce their performance, the band started with “My Cosmos Is Mine”, “Wagging Tongue” and “Walking in my Shoes”.
The highlight of the gig was “Strangelove”, “Somebody” and “Behind the Wheel” in the middle of the set, the latter song being dedicated to their keyboardist Andrew Fletcher, who died in 2022.

Depeche Mode performed the 10th track of the evening, “Strangelove”, in an acoustic version, sung by Martin Gore. In keeping with the ambience, this was only supported by minimal stage lighting and a spotlight on the singer.

The early closing song was the timeless audience favorite “Enjoy The Silence”, stretched to a full seven minutes including a skull visualizer and, for the time being, a farewell. Of course Depeche Mode came back for a few extra songs.

In the encore, another acoustic piece, “Condemnation,” followed, but this time by both band members. After this performance, the musicians sang their birthday congratulations and ended their show with “Just Can’t Get Enough”, “Never Let Me Down Again” and “Personal Jesus”.
