Depeche Mode in Berlin: set list, tickets, arrival & weather

DM will play a show at Berlin’s Olympiastadion on July 7th and 9th. Here’s all the information.

On Friday (July 7th) Depeche Mode will play the first of two concerts in Berlin’s Olympiastadion. Due to popular demand, there will be an additional show on Sunday (July 9) which will see Depeche Mode take to the stage at the Stadion am Olympiapark – and fans will have the opportunity to see Dave Gahan’s and Martin Gore’s band live.

As part of their current “Memento Mori” tour, DM have already performed in numerous stadiums in recent weeks, such as the Düsseldorf Merkur Spiel-Arena, the Olympic Stadium in Munich and the Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt.

The French musician Jehnny Beth (Savages) can be seen in the opening act on Friday (July 7th). On Sunday (July 9th) Depeche Mode will support the British trip-hop band Hælos from London in the opening act. They each start at 7 p.m.

Last tickets for the open-air show on Friday (July 7th) are over ticketmaster available. These are mostly resale tickets – i.e. tickets that are resold by fans to fans. Therefore, the ticket prices can vary greatly and deviate from the original price. If you want to be in the front row, for example, you have to shell out 287.50 euros. Tickets for normal standing room inside cost between 161.28 euros and 116.15 euros. Tickets for grandstand seats are traded for up to 401.35 euros.

For the gig on Sunday (July 9th) there is the possibility to Eventim to get so-called FanSale tickets. These are also tickets that are passed on to fans by private sellers. Ticket prices here start at EUR 98.90. At ticketmaster you can still get tickets at the original price. There you pay 135.50 euros for standing room. The other official ticket prices vary between 118.25 euros and 174.00 euros.

On this concert weekend in Berlin is also the Loveparade successor Rave the Planet planned. As this can lead to numerous road closures throughout the city, concertgoers are advised to leave their cars at home and use public transport instead.

Subway

Concert-goers can take the U2 underground line to the Olympiastadion underground station. From there it is only a short walk to the stadium (East Gate entrance: 500 m, South Gate entrance: 870 m). The average journey time is 14 minutes from the Zoological Garden, 24 minutes from Potsdamer Platz and 34 minutes from Alexanderplatz.

Train

The S-Bahn line S5 takes you to the S-Bahn station Olympiastadion. From there it is only a few minutes’ walk to the stadium (South Gate entrance via the Flatowallee exit: 200 m, East Gate entrance via the Trakehner Allee exit: 250 m). The average journey time is seven minutes from Spandau train station, 14 minutes from the Zoological Garden, 22 minutes from Friedrichstrasse and 26 minutes from Alexanderplatz.

bus

Concert-goers can take bus lines M49 and 218 to the Flatowallee stop. This is within walking distance to the Olympic Stadium. The 104 bus takes you to the Neu-Westend underground station. From there you can either go directly to the stadium or take the U12 underground line one more stop to the Olympiastadion station.

Weather

The weather will be pleasantly warm on Friday (July 7th) with summer temperatures of 25 degrees and a cloudless sky. From 10 p.m. it cools down to about 20 degrees. Rain is not to be expected on this Friday concert. Even at night it will be clear and it will remain dry.

On Sunday (July 9th) it will be even hotter in Berlin, but cloudy. Temperatures will stay around 29 degrees until evening. During the night they drop to almost 23 degrees. The sky will remain slightly cloudy throughout the night. The chance of rain is currently zero percent.
