Depeche Mode announces cause of death of deceased keyboardist Andy Fletcher | celebrities

celebritiesAt the end of May, the news broke that Andy Fletcher of Depeche Mode has passed away at the age of 60. A possible cause of death was not disclosed at the time. Meanwhile, the group announced that the keyboardist has died after an aortic dissection.

In a statement on social media, Depeche Mode said they have received permission from Andy’s family to share the news. “We got the results a few weeks ago. Andy’s family has now asked us to share the news with you,” it sounds on the group’s Instagram account. “Andy passed away on May 26 after an aortic dissection. Although it was much too early, he died naturally.”

Tribute in London

Martin Gore and Dave Gahan, the two remaining members of Depeche Mode, also took the time to thank fans of the group. They also announced that they recently organized a tribute in Fletcher’s name. “Last week we celebrated Andy’s life in a beautiful ceremony in London. It was a gathering filled with tears, but also with great memories and stories about who Andy was.”
