Andrew Fletcher is dead. Founding member and keyboardist of legendary synthpop band Depeche Mode turned 60. His band members Martin Gore and Dave Gahan announced this via Twitter on Thursday evening. Nothing is officially known about the cause of death.

The tweet read: “We are shocked and filled with overwhelming sadness at the untimely death of our dear friend, family member and bandmate Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher. Fletch had a true heart of gold and was always there when you needed support, a lively conversation, a good laugh or a cold beer. Our hearts are with his family and we ask that you think of them and respect their privacy at this difficult time.”
