Francisco Trincao’s future is still up in the air. The striker is on loan at Wolverhampton, where he has a purchase option valued at 30 million euros, although if he does not execute it he will have to pay six ‘kilos’ to Barça as a penalty. The Portuguese seems to be clear that he does not want to continue in the Premier League and is committed to returning to his native country.
According to ‘Récord’ in its daily edition, Trincao would be pressuring FC Barcelona to achieve a transfer to Sporting de Portugal, to continue triumphing in the League where he stood out before signing for Barça, in exchange for 31 million euros and a contract until the 2024/25 season. That is to say, the Portuguese still has three courses to complete under the umbrella of the Blaugrana.
Sporting de Portugal would guarantee him the salary that Trincao demands, but Barça looks at the operation with suspicion, since they do not want to give up the money from a supposed transfer. Trincao wants to resolve his future in the coming days, before starting his summer vacation, as the Portuguese newspaper points out.
This season, his first in the Premier League, he has played 30 games, scoring three goals and providing one assist. However, he has only been dressed as a short for 1,386 minutes, that is, an average of approximately 45 minutes per game. Everything indicates that Wolverhampton will not execute the purchase option for him and the winger is already making moves to return to Portugal.
