Departure Ronaldo from United step closer: ‘Due to family circumstances not at training’ | Foreign football

Cristiano Ronaldo’s stay at Manchester United seems to be coming to an end. The Portuguese star is missing today ‘due to family circumstances’ at the training of coach Erik ten Hag, reports include Independent

On Saturday it was already known that 37-year-old Ronaldo is looking to leave United. He would like to play in the Champions League next season and ‘The Red Devils’ have not qualified for that. Ten Hag and co are playing in the Europa League.

Incidentally, Ronaldo does not want to leave the club from Manchester empty-handed when he walks out the door. According to The Times the Portuguese understands that there must be a financial compensation for his departure. It is not yet known which club Ronaldo has in mind as the next destination.

Malacia, De Jong and Martinez

In his second stint with the club, Ronaldo has now played a season in Manchester. He also played for the club between 2003 and 2009. Ronaldo then played for Real Madrid and Juventus before returning to England.

Ten Hag, who stole Tyrell Malacia in front of Olympique Lyon and has a strong interest in Frenkie de Jong and Lisandro Martínez, has been training with his team for a week. The season will kick off on July 12 with a friendly against Liverpool.
