Defeating the Phoenix Suns 125-100 away in the American Basketball League (NBA) Western Conference semifinals, the Denver Nuggets won the series 4-2 and made their way to the finals.
NBA play-offs continued with 2 matches. In the Western Conference semi-finals, the Nuggets became the first team to qualify for the final by beating their opponent by 25 points in a “triple double” game with 32 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists by Nikola Jokic.
Jamal Murray added 26 points and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 21 points for the Nuggets.
Cam Payne’s 31 points, 6 rebounds, and Kevin Durant’s 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the Suns were not enough to prevent a defeat. Jock Landale finished the game with 13 points and Devin Booker 12 points.
The Nuggets will face the winner of the Golden State Warriors-Los Angeles Lakers matchup in the finals. The Lakers are 3-2 ahead in the series.
CELTICS WINS THE AWAY CARDS THE SERIES TO THE LAST MATCH
The Boston Celtics defeated the Philadelphia 76’ers 95-86 in the Eastern Conference semifinals, bringing the series 3-3. Joel Embiid had a “double double” with 26 points and 10 rebounds in the Sixers, Tyrese Maxey had 26 points, 5 rebounds, James Harden had 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists.
For Celtics, Marcus Smart had 22 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists, Jayson Tatum had 19 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists. Jaylen Brown had 17 points and Malcolm Brogdon had 16 points. The 7th and last game of the series will be played on Monday, May 15, hosted by the Celtics.
