Right back Denso Kasius has signed a contract with AZ until the summer of 2027. He comes over from the Italian Bologna. Today Kasius already trained with the Alkmaarders.
The 20-year-old footballer made one in early 2022 flash transfer from FC Volendam to Bologna. He was then rented by Volendam from FC Utrecht. In Italy, Kasius was unable to break through and came into action in fourteen matches. During the winter break he was rented out to the Austrian Rapid Wien.
“I learned a lot of things abroad and I grew up. I did play less than I had hoped. That is another reason why I am happy to be back in the Netherlands,” Kasius says.
Not an unknown
Kasius is no stranger to football affairs director Max Huiberts. “We already know Denso from his earlier period in the Netherlands. And even from his years in the youth academy at ADO Den Haag, among others. So he is certainly no stranger to us. We are very happy that we can add a player with Denso’s profile to the selection,” said Huiberts.
Previously, David Møller Wolfe and Ruben van Bommel were contracted.
