Dennis Schouten thinks that the editors of Op1 are not completely honest about his cancellation. “It’s really because all kinds of angry messages were sent that I was quickly canceled by them!”
Princess Amalia’s student life has started and many people wonder whether we will see videos and photos of her in the media in the coming years. And especially on the juice channels. Dennis Schouten would not hesitate to broadcast them in Gossip Talk, he says. Op1 wanted to know the best of that.
Criticism of Op1
The editors of Op1 had invited Dennis to last Monday’s episode. He agreed, after which an announcement was posted online. It then went wild on Twitter. People think it’s a travesty that Op1 now also wants to have faces of juice channels at the table.
When that criticism erupted Dennis received a call from the Op1 editors with the offer that he could enter the studio through the back entrance, so that he could safely reach the talk show table.
Dennis called off
Not much later Dennis was called again by Op1, but this time with a cancellation. The reason was the sudden resignation of the Minister of Agriculture, but Dennis does not believe that.
He tells in Gossip: “I was almost there and then they called again and then the story was: ‘Don’t come at all anymore, because the Minister of Agriculture is stepping down. You don’t have to come anymore.’ The whole subject was turned upside down. It was just under an hour before I had to be there.”
“Cancel that bite!”
Dennis thinks that Op1 has very eagerly seized this reason. “I understand that if a Minister of Agriculture resigns, fine… But then there was another topic about a series on NPO 3 about Moroccan girls and sl*t shaming, which 60,000 people watch. Then I think: then you would have thrown that out.”
Op1 is simply lying about the reason, he thinks. “It’s really because these kinds of messages were sent that I was quickly canceled. From: this is too complicated for us, too much nasty sh*t, cancel that bite!”
