Ajax Amsterdam announced on Tuesday (01/25/2022) that 29-year-old Christian Erikse was training with the club’s second team this week. “Legends are always welcomee” – in German: Legends are always welcome, Ajax tweeted.
“I’m very happy to be here. At Ajax I know the people, it feels like I’m coming home because I’ve been here for so long.” said Ericsen. He wants to get back to his best as soon as possible “so that when I find a new club, I can perform well there as soon as possible”.
Revived in the square
Eriksen collapsed during the group game against Finland at last year’s European Championship and had to be revived. The midfielder’s contract with Inter Milan was later terminated because he was not allowed to play in Italy’s Serie A with a defibrillator in place.
Eriksen wants to go to the World Cup in Qatar
Since then, the midfielder has been looking for a new club. Most recently he was from media with the Premier League-Promoted FC Brentford been linked. Eriksen had announced at the WM Wanting to play for Denmark again at the end of the year.
He had started his career in Amsterdam. He joined Ajax as a youth and made his professional debut in 2010. After three championship titles he went to 2013 Tottenham Hotspurfollowed by a move to Inter Milan in 2020.
