In September the time has come: Germany’s flagship biathlete Denise Herrmann will marry her fiancé Thomas Wick. Previously, the Olympic champion has now celebrated a wild bachelorette party.
Despite the summer break, it got surprisingly loud a few days ago in the Ruhpolding biathlon stadium. A whole series of top German athletes found themselves in the Chiemgau Alps – but not on an official mission.
Rather, a group of 13 around Vanessa Hinz, Karolin Horchler, Lena Häcki-Groß, Marion Wiesensarter and Maren Hammerschmidt celebrated Denise Herrmann’s bachelorette party, who will marry former cross-country skier Thomas Wick in September.
The 33-year-old shared some pictures from the party day via Instagram. She also addressed a few words to her future husband.
“I crossed the finish line as ‘Top Wife’. Are you ready too?” asked Herrmann, who had to do a parkour on grass, among other things.
Addressing her friends, she wrote: “Thanks for an unforgettable bachelorette party girls! I think I’m ready now.”
Biathlon: Special year 2022 for Herrmann
The year 2022 is a very special one for Germany’s star biathlete. At the Winter Games in Beijing in February, Herrmann won gold in the individual and bronze in the relay.
The next highlight will follow in a few weeks when she says yes to her long-term partner Thomas Wick.
Herrmann spoke to the “chiemgau24.de” portal in June about the difficult balancing act between preparing for the season and planning the wedding.
“May was pretty demanding. In addition to the usual training sessions, I had a lot to do privately. My fiancé Thomas Wick and I are planning to build our house and we will get married in September,” revealed the 33-year-old.
